Eros of Decay
Eros of Decay signals a curiosity for desire, a longing for want itself.
Exploring sensuality in creative projects has become fundamental in my own personal exploration.
Project Summary
This conceptual project draws inspiration from
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde,
a novel exploring themes of vanity, and the pursuit of eternal beauty.
The idea emerged during a period of dissociation, experiencing apathy towards personal well-being and a withdrawal from my physical self.
The only intrigue came from this book, with its abundant rhetoric of grandiosity and fixation on youth.
The hardest part of this project was facing the reason it exists..
Never quite ready to witness what felt like my own undoing.
This has been a reminder to create space for rituals that feel sensual and somatic in routine.
Texture, scent, and intricate detail served as sensory cues that helped bring me back down to earth and back into my body.
